Over 5,000 entries were submitted by photographers across the globe for this prestigious exhibition. Only 120 images are selected to tour galleries across the UK during 2010/11.

The exhibition is amongst the most revered by photographers worldwide and is sponsored by Allen & Overy based in London.

This years opening launch will be held in July at Allen & Overy's offices in London where the top three award winners will be selected.

The image itself was taken at Disley in the Peak District during the snow storms of January 2010. It was intended to depict a bleak, cold, dull day in the peaks, whilst providing a hint of yesteryear. It shows that despite decades of technological advancement, the weather remains a great leveller!
